There are currently over 70,000 genetic tests on the market with 8-10 new tests each day. In the ever-changing world of molecular diagnostics, working with a partner that specializes in this area is critical. Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) has partnered with EviCore healthcare to provide benefits management for molecular and genomic testing under EviCore’s laboratory management program. Beginning December 13, 2019, providers will submit precertification requests through EviCore healthcare for dates of service January 1, 2020 and thereafter. Approximately 230 codes are included in this process and a listing of codes is posted to EviCore’s resource site.
In the coming weeks, we will share more information about the lab management program, including information regarding how to submit requestsfor applicable services and educational webinar sessions.
