About the BCBSND Caring Foundation

We believe health and well-being are the building blocks of thriving individuals and communities. And we believe in the power of North Dakotans to create a healthy state.

Established in 1989, the BCBSND Caring Foundation is a private 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Over these 30 years, the Caring Foundation has worked to improve the health and well-being of North Dakotans and their communities. Through collaborations with organizations across North Dakota, it is our goal to support sustainable and innovative efforts that promote better outcomes and create lasting change. To learn more about our initiatives, view our Impact Report.

Helping North Dakotans thrive through grants

As a private foundation, we are primarily a grantmaking entity, entirely funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND). Our giving focuses on key health issues that positively impact the lives of North Dakotans. We partner with our grantees to:

  • Support nonprofits that align with our vision and goals
  • Collaborate on shared outcomes
  • Create lasting change
  • Invest in innovative ideas that improve communities
