Availity

Availity offers secure online access to multiple payers and the ability to check eligibility and benefits, manage claims and remittances, request authorizations and referrals and complete other secure administrative tasks online.

Availity is a multi-payer site where you can use a single user ID and password to work with BCBSND and other participating payers online. Availity is compliant with all HIPPA regulations and there is no cost for providers to register or use any of the online tools. 

Available Functionality: 

The one-stop, secure BCBSND provider portal makes it easy to submit and manage claims data online.

Availity, helps streamline the claims process, from submission to reimbursement.

Through the Availity portal, providers will have access to: 

  • Submit eligibility and benefits inquiries for BCBSND members
    • For out-of-state BlueCard plans, call the number on the back of the member’s insurance card
    • International Blue Plan Member 
      • Verify eligibility and benefits using one of three methods: send an electronic inquiry through the Availity Provider Portal, submit a HIPAA 270 transaction (eligibility) to BCBSND, or call the BlueCard Eligibility® line at 800-676-BLUE (2573) and provide the prefix
  • Submit claims and review statuses
    • Submit claim transactions (837I & P), member eligibility (270), claim status (276), etc. 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 
  • Correct and void claims
    • Make a correction to change the diagnosis code, date of service or charges or to add services or remove a line of the claim
    • Void a claim submitted in error
  • Request authorizations and referrals
    • A listing of services requiring precertification can be found on our website under Policies & Precertification
  • View your electronic remittance advice (835)
    • Receive claim acknowledgment (277CA) and claim payment/remittance advice (835) transactions
  • Direct Messaging
    • Ask a claim question related to a claim denial or eligibility status
    • NOTE: Not available for Medicaid Expansion at this time
  • Complete credentialing and recredentialing forms
    • Complete and/or update the electronic funds transfers (EFT) forms
