To allow flexibility as Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) began administering the Medicaid Expansion program on January 1, 2022, as agreements with providers have been completed, BCBSND has been backdating the effective date of participation to January 1, 2022. Effective July 1, 2022, BCBSND will no longer be backdating agreements to January. Instead, BCBSND will align with the North Dakota Medicaid program process in applying a retroactive effective date no more than ninety (90) days prior to the date a signed agreement is received.
If you are not yet a participating provider with the BCBSND Medicaid Expansion program, please reach out to us at ProviderContracting@bcbsnd.com as soon as possible to complete an agreement. In your request, please include the following information:
- Provider Name
- Tax ID (EIN)
- NPI
As previously communicated, BCBSND has been selected by the North Dakota Department of Human Services (NDDHS) to provide Medicaid Expansion Managed Care services across the state. This is a four-year contract with optional extensions beginning on January 1, 2022.
If you are currently enrolled with ND Medicaid and participating with BCBSND, you are eligible to participate in this network. A FINAL addendum to your existing network agreement has been approved by DHS and is now available for your review and signature. Reimbursement information for the program is also available.
