Action required: Complete the Provider Data Maintenance (PDM) process by March 31

Pursuant to the authority granted to health insurers by the No Surprises Act (NSA), Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) is requiring providers to review their provider directory data once every 90 days to attest its accuracy or request changes. This requirement supports one of the main objectives of the NSA, which is to ensure provider directories are accurate for members.

This process is completed through the North Dakota Payer Spaces using the “Directory Validation” tile under applications, in Availity Essentials.

What you need to do:
Remember that you must review your provider directory data, confirm its accuracy or request changes using our Availity Essentials provider portal by March 31, 2022. Then you are required to complete the PDM process once every 90 days, from the date you either validated or request changes.

Who is impacted by the NSA mandate?
Each provider group or organization must complete the PDM process according to each Tax ID registered in Availity Essentials.
 
What if a provider does not comply with the NSA mandate?
If a provider fails to complete the PDM process by March 31, 2022, they will be removed from our provider directory. After March 31, if a provider fails to complete this process once every 90 days, they will also be automatically removed from our provider directory.
