Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) has recently corrected information regarding the modifier indicator statement within both Correct Coding Guidelines reimbursement policies.
These policies previously stated:
- “If the claim contains a valid modifier on the code 2 procedure and the modifier indicator is 2, the service will receive separate reimbursement.”
The change made on 4/26/2023, will now state:
- “A claim that contains a valid modifier on the code 2 procedure and the modifier indicator is 1, the service will receive separate reimbursement.”
