Duplicate Denials on Secondary Claims for Medicaid Expansion Notification – Update

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) wants to update providers on the HealthCare News article previously published on September 20, 2022, regarding duplicate denial(s) applying in error on a correctly submitted secondary Medicaid Expansion (ME) claim.
This issue has been resolved. Currently, BCBSND is reviewing claims that have potentially rejected or did not cross over to the secondary ME plan in error for identified members that have another BCBSND primary insurance plan and BCBSND ME as a secondary plan. Claims history will be reviewed in its entirety for the member’s plan. This is a manual review process, allow 90 days for review and possible adjustments.
If, after 90 days, you have claims that you feel were impacted by this issue and were not adjusted, contact the ME Customer Contact Center at 1-833-777-5779. Provide the members with information and claim numbers of claims that need review.
