The COVID-19 Federal Public Health Emergency (PHE), declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service Act by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will be expiring at the end of day May 11, 2023.
For FEP members, regular benefits will apply, and FEP will no longer waive cost share and prior authorization for COVID-19 diagnostic tests and treatments. Coverage of over the counter (OTC) COVID-19 self-test kits will end for claims with dates of service beginning May 12, 2023.
