Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) continues to receive electronic claims with non-migrated Member ID information. As a reminder, all BCBSND subscribers were issued new ID cards with new Member IDs between July 2018 and January 2019.
Providers are reminded to verify they have the current information and ensure they use the Member ID exactly as it is displayed on the Member ID card.
If you do not have the current Member ID, you may be able to obtain this information using Availity’s Eligibility & Benefit Search. Providers may search for BCBSND members by first name, last name and date of birth. The current Member ID will be displayed in the results.
Claims submitted without the correct Member ID will be rejected with the message, “Acknowledgement/Rejected for Invalid Information - The claim/encounter has invalid information as specified in the Status details and has been rejected. Subscriber and subscriber id not found. Insured or Subscriber.”
Claims for Dates of Service prior to the member’s migration date that may have been covered under the member’s old ID must be submitted on paper.
