Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) would like to inform providers of a new revenue code and occurrence date span code for Acute Hospital Care at Home. This change will be implemented by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on July 05, 2022.
- New Occurrence Span Code 82, defined as “Hospital at Home Care Dates”
- New Revenue Code 0161, defined as “Hospital at Home, R&B Hospital at Home,”
These changes will impact the 837 institutional coordination of benefits (COB) claims (i.e., Medicare crossover claims). BCBSND will follow the established CMS guidelines for billing these codes.
