Walk This Way walkers undeterred by chilly temps

April 17, 2014 Denise Pinkney

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) employees Kim and Wes Borah took part in their first Walk This Way event at BCBSND on April 15 in Fargo. More than 60 area walkers and employees were undeterred by 25-degree temperatures in their 1.1-mile walk.

Walk This Way is an annual series of group walking events held at various locations throughout Cass and Clay counties.

Kim, who loves cold weather, said it was a nice day for the event. "I enjoyed seeing how many dedicated people there are out there who take time out of their day to check out the other locations," Kim said. Kim works as a medical review technician and her husband, Wesley, is an engineer in Facilities.

"We had a good turnout. It was great to see our employees and members of our community come together and brave the chilly temperature to participate in the Walk this Way event," said BCBSND Fitness Specialist Joe Fuller, who led the walk.

Participants also include a few small children and four-legged creatures.

Check out the remaining nine walks! It's a great way to add a recess break to your workday.
