Health Insurance Marketplace
The Health Insurance Marketplace is an online tool where individuals and small groups may purchase health insurance within their state.
- The federal government manages North Dakota's marketplace
- There will also be a Small Business Health Options Program, or SHOP, marketplace starting the fall of 2014
The Marketplace will offer Standard Benefit Plans, also known as Metallic Plans, including:
Bronze - 60%
Silver - 70%
Gold - 80%
Platinum - 90%
Levels are determined by the average percentage of total costs they will cover. For example, the Silver plan will cover 70% of total health care costs.
There is also a catastrophic plan available to individuals under age 30 or who demonstrate financial hardship.
