Simple steps to improving your health

December 12, 2013 Ryan Schuster

We live such busy lives that it seems like we're always running somewhere. Yet we rarely actually lace up the sneakers and go for a run.

It's easy to put off exercise and healthy eating as we rush through our busy lives. But with as many as 50 million Americans living sedentary lifestyles, it's as important as ever that we look for ways to fit healthier habits into our busy schedules.

Every day we're faced with little decisions like whether to take the elevator or the stairs.

Did you know that little steps like taking the stairs every day can help improve your health? Here are some benefits of walking.

Don't be afraid to blaze your own trail — and take the stairs (or go for a short stroll at lunch or even stretch a little at your desk). Your body will thank you for it.

There are little things you can do every day to improve your diet and eat healthier. Simple things like eating more fruit, less junk food and avoiding snacking on unhealthy things like candy bars, chips and soda.

Still think you're too busy to make a few adjustments in your daily routine to improve your health? Check out some of these smartphone apps to help you live healthier while on the go.
