This May is Mental Health Awareness Month, making it a good time to be more purposeful about checking in with your team as well as yourself. That’s because taking care of your mind affects your physical health and allows you to be more present for your family, your coworkers and your customers.
As an employer and company leader, your mental health matters just as much as your employees. Here are some tools and resources that you can use to start prioritizing your own mental health.

Here are five strategies that you can take to start improving your mental health in the workplace.
Learning how to rebound from setbacks is a great place to improve your mental well-being. These skills can help you both inside and outside of the workplace.
Connecting with others is a great way to grow the mental well-being for yourself and your team. There are many opportunities that your organization can consider to build stronger ties between team members, your customers, and the communities where they live.
Here are some examples that other organizations might do:
Encouraging employees to use their mental-health benefits
Starting a company
sports team
Organizing team lunches
and potlucks
Creating an employee recognition program
Scheduling team-building
events
Volunteering to clean
up local parks
We don’t just prioritize mental health in May. Throughout the year, we’ve contributed to many regional projects through the BCBSND Caring Foundation to improve all aspects of well-being in the communities where your employees and customers live.
