BCBSND Caring Foundation awards North Dakota student with Health Leader Scholarship for 2020-21 school year

Samantha Fugleberg

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Caring Foundation has awarded its first Health Leaders Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 to Samantha Fugleberg, RN, BSN and Doctor of Nursing Practice Student at NDSU. Fugleberg and her family live in Mayville, where she works for Sanford Health.

About the Health Leader Scholarship

BCBSND offers scholarships to 26 nursing and health profession students across ND each year. The Health Leaders Scholarship was created to support the next generation of healthcare leaders in ND.

Core to this scholarship is the development of an innovative project in the area of heath care. It must include a leadership plan that not only promotes a successful project outcome, but also academic and personal growth. Fugleberg’s project will focus on advancing screening and education for type II diabetes.

Congratulations, Samantha!

“We received a strong set of applications for the BCBSND Caring Foundation Health Leaders scholarship and we are very pleased to recognize Samantha Fugleberg as our first recipient of the BCBSND Caring Foundation Health Leaders scholarship,” said Dan Conrad, Chairman of the BCBSND Caring Foundation.

“Samantha demonstrates all of the qualities of an emerging leader in health care through her history of strong academic and personal growth, dedication to her profession, commitment to practice in her community and development of an innovative and sustainable project proposal,” he added.
