Amit Shah joins BCBSND as director of Enterprise Project Management Office

Amit Shah has joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Fargo, as director of Enterprise Project Management Office (EMPO). In this role, he will lead the company's EPMO and develop common project management standards, tools and resources to be used across the enterprise.

He has 13 years of project management experience working for companies such as Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield in Rochester, N.Y., and Xerox.

Shah earned a diploma in computer technology from Bombay Institute of Computer Technology in Mumbai, India, and a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Pune Institute of Computer Technology in Pune, India. He also earned a master's degree in information technology with a focus in project management from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y.

Shah has been a member of the Project Management Institute since 2003 and a Project Management Professional since 2005. He is a member of Scrum Alliance (Agile Project Management) and a certified Scrum Master since 2010. He has a certification of Information Technology Infrastructure Library-ITIL (V3) Foundation. He is currently a fellow of the 2011-12 Minority Management Development program of America's Health Insurance Plan.
