Executives and employees from four local organizations will take to the baseball field October 5 to compete in a one-night softball tournament and fundraiser for United Way of Cass-Clay.
The Live United Softball Challenge will be held at Mickelson Field in Fargo, and organizations competing will be Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, State Bank & Trust, Border States Electric and United Way of Cass-Clay.
Local TV personalities will be the team managers, and other local media representatives will emcee the event.
A free-will offering will be taken at the gate for United Way of Cass-Clay, and "CEO Challenge" T-shirts will be available for sale. Kids can play on inflatable Games Galore games, and there will be games and entertainment on the field between games.
Games in the one-night tournament are slated as such:
- The first two games, played concurrently, will consist of five innings each or 45 minutes, whichever comes first.
- The consolation game will last three innings or 30 minutes, whichever comes first.
- The championship game will run seven innings or one hour, whichever comes first.
Concessions for sale will include barbecues, hot dogs, chips, popcorn, bars, cookies, Dippin' Dots and soda.
