BCBSND promotes Gail Richter to manager in Finance

FARGO, N.D. - Gail Richter has been promoted to manager in Finance at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND).

Richter is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating of operating expenses. She is also responsible for safeguarding organization assets and fiscal record keeping, and for the preparation of reports for senior management, the board of directors and external users. She monitors department policies and procedures and recommends improvements. Richter ensures that the Finance department supports the overall goals of the organization and that finance services are delivered professionally and efficiently.

She joined BCBSND in 1997 as an accounting specialist II. Richter left BCBSND in 1998 to work at a non-profit organization and returned in 1999 as an accountant/analyst. She was promoted to supervisor in Finance in March 2003. In November 2003, she was named senior accountant/analyst.

Richter joined Noridian Healthcare Solutions, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of BCBSND, as an operations review auditor in 2005. She was promoted to security analyst III in 2006 at Noridian. In 2010, she was promoted to senior accountant/analyst at BCBSND and to team leader in Finance in 2011.

She earned a bachelor of accountancy degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She also holds the Certified Public Accountant and the Certified Information Systems Auditor certifications.
