FARGO, N.D. - Mike Carlson has been promoted to director of Employer Consulting and Wellness Services at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND).

Carlson is responsible to develop and implement employer consulting, member education and member wellness strategies to improve overall member engagement and health status, enhance member health care decision-making and create a sustainable health care cost trend for potential and existing BCBSND employer group customers.

He began his BCBSND career in 2006 as director of the Health and Wellness programs in Medical Management. In 2010, Carlson was named manager of Wellness Services in Marketing.

He received a bachelor's degree in athletic training from North Dakota State University, Fargo, and a master's in exercise science from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minn.
