Jacobson named director of special investigations unit at BCBSND
Paula Jacobson has been promoted to special investigations unit director in Compliance and Ethics at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota. As director, she is responsible for administrative oversight related to the prevention and detection of health care fraud, waste and abuse.
She previously worked as a senior reimbursement analyst in Provider Reimbursement at BCBSND.
Jacobson joined Noridian in 1986 as auditor I in Provider Audit for Medicare at BCBSND and was promoted to auditor II in 1990. She transferred to pricing analyst in 1992, and in 1993, she transferred to fraud investigator. Jacobson was promoted to senior reimbursement analyst in Provider Reimbursement in 1999.
Jacobson was born in Cooperstown, N.D., and grew up in Sharon, N.D. She graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
