Muhle, Brosz, Koenig and Markert promoted at BCBSND

Four employees were recently promoted at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Fargo. Sheila Muhle was promoted to assistant vice president of Business Systems Administration in the Claims and Member Services Division. Jarvis Brosz was promoted to assistant vice president of New Business Initiatives in Claims and Member Services and Shari Koenig was promoted to assistant vice president of Development and Business Strategies. Lisa Markert was promoted to manager of Compensation and Benefits.

Sheila Muhle

Born in Fargo, Sheila Muhle grew up in Leonard, N.D., and joined BCSBND's Claims Division in 1977. She did not attend college. In Claims she worked as a claims processor, trainer, analyst, team leader and most recently as manager of four areas within Claims and Member Services: Claims Adjudication; BlueCard; Medical Review and Audit; and Operations Support trainers and analysts.

As assistant vice president of Business Systems Administration, she will oversee the department's technical analysts and senior analysts who provide specifications for development and change implementation in the claims processing system.

She and her husband, Dave, live at Lake Ida near Pelican Rapids, Minn. She has a grown son, two grown stepsons and three grandchildren.

Jarvis Brosz

Jarvis Brosz was born in Ellendale, N.D., and grew up near Kulm, N.D. He received a bachelor of science degree in agronomy and a master of business administration degree, both from North Dakota State University, Fargo.

He joined BCBSND in 1990 and worked as a technical analyst, senior analyst/team leader and most recently as manager, all in Business Systems Administration. As manager he oversaw two senior analyst/team leaders and 23 analysts who develop and maintain the claims processing systems.

As assistant vice president of New Business Initiatives, Brosz oversees a staff whose function is to transition new business to the BCBSND claims processing systems.

He and his wife, Jean, live in Fargo.

Shari Koenig

Shari Koenig was born in Moorhead, Minn., and grew up in Felton, Minn. She received her bachelor of science degree in marketing with a minor in finance from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

She joined BCBSND in 1991 as a provider service representative in Provider Service and later worked as a marketing support specialist and a Fargo marketing specialist in Marketing. In 1996, she joined Development and Business Strategies and worked in that division as a planning and development coordinator, development analyst/project coordinator, HIPAA coordinator, team leader and manager.

As manager, she oversaw DBS's development project coordinators in corporate project management, corporate planning, research, request for proposal coordination and customer satisfaction surveys. As assistant vice president, she oversees DBS, Quality Assurance and Contract Administration.

She and her husband, Roger, live in Fargo. They have three children, Michaela, Rachel and Clay.

Lisa Markert

Lisa Markert was born in Minneapolis and grew up near Clinton, Minn. She received her bachelor of science degree in business administration from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

She joined Noridian in 1989, working as a claims adjudicator, senior clerk and then electronic medical claims (EMC) marketing and technical specialist until 1993. She rejoined the company in 2004 as a compensation and benefits analyst in Human Resources.

As compensation and benefits manager, she managed the day-to-day activities of the company's compensation and benefits functions, ensuring they are in compliance with established guidelines. She also managed the compensation and benefits staff and the project-planning components of compensation and benefits programs.

She and her husband, Dan, have a daughter, Megan, 6, and live in Moorhead, Minn.
