Nelson County Health System Child Care Facility Ready for Play

State-of-the art playground equipment installed

FARGO – Thanks to a rural health grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota's Caring Foundation, Nelson County Health System Child Care Facility has the playground they always dreamed of. Kids can now enjoy the new state-of-the-art playground equipment. The Child Care Facility cares for children of Health System employees, so parents don't need to worry about the safety of their children while at work.

According to Angela Hanscom, a pediatric occupational therapist and author of the bestselling book Balanced and Barefoot, it is recommended that children have three hours of outside time each day, and with this playground, the health system's Child Care Facility will be much more capable of meeting that recommendation. Amber Blomberg, BCBSND Caring Foundation Manager, shared "This facility really wants to help children grow physically, socially, and emotionally, and we are so happy to enable them to do this."

The Facility is very excited to enable their children to be able to get plenty of fresh air and exercise. Michelle Stein, Director of Child Care, expressed heartwarming gratitude "for the opportunity to support our children and the families of the Nelson County Health System."
