Petrice Balkan joins BCBSND as MediQHome director

Petrice Balkan has joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, Fargo, as director of the MediQHome advanced medical home program. She will help establish a statewide program that uses a patient-centered medical home care approach to ensure that members receive the primary health care they need to improve the quality of their lives.

Balkan had been employed by Dakota Clinic and then Innovis Health in Fargo for 18 years, most recently as vice president of practice management and managed care. She was responsible for clinic and hospital revenue cycle management in addition to patient access, contracting, compliance and practice management.

She grew up in Mandan and received an associate's degree in commercial and graphic arts from Bismarck State College. She graduated from North Dakota State University, Fargo, with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

She and her husband, Greg Jensen, live on Lake Maud in Minnesota. They have two grown sons.
