Fargo, N.D. – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) is gearing up to host the annual Worksite Wellness Summit. Attendees can look forward to a mix of thought-provoking discussions, engaging workshops, and networking opportunities. This year’s event is Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Holiday Inn in Fargo. For full details and to register, visit the Worksite Wellness Summit website at www.bcbsnd.com/summit2023. Early-bird registration is available through Friday, Sept. 1.
While any worksite wellness program is a positive step, traditional programs are not enough as today’s employers change the way they operate, compete for employees and support a workforce dealing with complex issues like behavioral health challenges, high blood pressure and obesity. The summit, however, will shake things up. It aims to spark a shift from relying only on conventional approaches to embracing a culture-driven strategy that seamlessly integrates well-being into the fabric of organizations.
"This is more than just about participating in a program; it's about cultivating a culture that thrives on well-being," said Pete Seljevold, BCBSND Worksite Wellness program administrator. “We made sure to design a valuable experience that will be a catalyst for change. We want to encourage businesses and organizations to champion well-being as a continuous journey that resonates with individual success.”
One key emphasis of this year's summit is inclusivity. The summit hopes to inspire organizations to create environments where well-being becomes a universal pursuit. Attendees can also expect practical strategies to integrate into their workplace settings. In the afternoon, keynote speaker Richard Safeer, M.D., Chief Medical Director of Employee Health and Well-Being for Johns Hopkins Medicine, will walk attendees through his roadmap for creating a well-being culture that combines science with practical solutions. Throughout the day, interactive sessions and workshops will give actionable insights to empower attendees to become agents of change within their organizations.
To further deliver value, the summit has an extra perk for HR professionals. The event will offer 4.75 hours of professional development credit toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP recertification. Six continuing education general credits are also available for licensed insurance agents who attend. This makes it a valuable opportunity for HR personnel and insurance agents to further their professional development while advocating for a healthier workplace.
