Caring Foundation grants funds for merry-go-round, swings and more
ROLLA, N.D. – If you've been to Rolla Community Day Care Center or Rolla Elementary lately, you may have noticed some new equipment for the children to play on, thanks to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation. The daycare received a new merry-go-round with a safety mat, which, according to Brandi Swanson, the director of the facility, is being well appreciated by the many children who use it.
Meanwhile, at the Rolla elementary school, there are new swings, teeter totters and basketball hoops, funded both through the Rural Health Grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation and fundraising efforts from the community. Rolla Elementary Principal Kristin Mitchell shared, "Updating our playground equipment through the BCBS grant and fundraising has been a wonderful way to exercise and add fun to our day!"
The BCBSND Caring Foundation focuses on bettering the health and well-being of North Dakotans. Caring Foundation Manager Amber Blomberg pointed out that "projects like this will last for many years to come, so it's especially rewarding to consider just how many children will have memories of playing on these playgrounds."
