FARGO, N.D. Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Caring Foundation posted its annual Impact Report for 2023. This report details the statewide impact areas the Foundation invested in throughout 2023. It also lists the many grant and scholarship recipients and other highlighted initiatives from last year.
“In 2023, the BCBSND Caring Foundation supported its mission through multiple initiatives, like health care scholarships, community and organizational grants, volunteering and more. It's the student who receives a scholarship to pursue a degree in health care, the family that now has access to nutritious foods and the seniors who have found renewed connection through in-home visits. These narratives remind us that our work is not just about grants; it's about the lives we transform,” shared Dan Conrad, BCBSND Caring Foundation Board Chair and BCBSND President and CEO.
From Williston to Wahpeton, the Foundation supports a wide variety of community-based well-being programs in North Dakota. Altogether, $750,000 was invested throughout the state. The Caring Foundation also introduced the Strike Out the Stigma initiative last summer that raised $14,526.25 for The Village Family Services to help community members with mental health services.
Another factor covered in the report is the extent of BCBSND’s Blue&You volunteer program for BCBSND employees. In 2023, a total of 4,820 hours of volunteer service to over 100 nonprofits were recorded by 52% of BCBSND employees. Volunteer spotlights and group photos at local nonprofits are also featured.
