Amber Blomberg recognized at YWCA banquet
Fargo, N.D. – Tuesday, April 29, 2025 – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) is proud to announce that Amber Blomberg, executive director of the BCBSND Caring Foundation, was honored as a recipient of a 2025 YWCA Cass Clay Women of the Year Award. She received the award for the Health, Wellness, & Spirituality category. This recognition celebrates Blomberg’s exceptional contributions to the Fargo-Moorhead community and her unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of North Dakotans.
The Women of the Year Award from YWCA Cass Clay is a prestigious honor that recognizes women and their contributions to the Fargo-Moorhead community. Blomberg’s recognition underscores her dedication to empowering others and creating positive change. This award celebrates her accomplishments and highlights the importance of community engagement and leadership in fostering a healthier and more inclusive society.
Awards like this reflect BCBSND's commitment to its core values, including community engagement, service excellence and responsible stewardship. Honoring employees who embody these values reinforces the organization's mission and vision, said Dan Conrad, president and CEO of BCBSND.

Leading with Heart
Blomberg's journey is a testament to her dedication and passion for community service. Growing up on a farm near Starbuck, Minnesota, she developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for community values. She graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, with a bachelor's degree in marketing and business management. Blomberg transitioned from the fashion industry to BCBSND in 2012, where she quickly became an integral part of the organization.
At BCBSND, Blomberg led the Caring Foundation through transformation and endowment. In her time, she has championed new employee volunteer programs, developed the Social Drivers of Health report and oversaw behavioral health initiatives such as, Shut Out the Stigma and Strike Out the Stigma.
History of Excellence
BCBSND employees have a history of receiving various awards and honors. In 2024 alone, the region recognized:

In addition, United Way of Cass-Clay recognized BCBSND and Noridian Health Solutions as the Most Generous Workplace, celebrating their involvement and contributions to the community. BCBSND and Noridian took home the coveted Philly GOAT Award. This traveling trophy is given annually to the company whose “phil”anthropy and generosity are unrivaled.
