BCBSND, Noridian Celebrate Philly Goat Award for Community Impact

Employees contributed to United Way support

FARGO, N.D. – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) and Noridian Healthcare Solutions, LLC (Noridian), are proud to receive the Philly Goat Award for No. 1 Most Generous Workplace for United Way of Cass-Clay at the 2025 Community Celebration & Annual Meeting. This honor recognizes outstanding philanthropy, exceptional community support and dedication.

BCBSND, Noridian and many of their 3,2000 employees pledged to support United Way, contributing through various initiatives such as May Day baskets, Boo baskets, the Eat United food truck feed and the Battle for the North internal fundraising effort. These organizations support United Way because of their dedication to improving the overall health and well-being of North Dakota residents.

Health is influenced by more than medical care. Addressing social drivers of health is crucial for improving overall health and reducing health disparities. By partnering with United Way, BCBSND and Noridian can address critical community issues such as hunger, homelessness, education and employment.

Dan Conrad, President and CEO of BCBSND, expressed his gratitude.

"Community has always been part of our story. It is at the heart of who we are, and we care deeply about the people who make it special. That goes hand-in-hand with our partnership with United Way. Together, we found creative ways to support families, improve well-being and step up when our communities need it. We are thankful for the efforts of our team and for the incredible work of United Way in addressing economic stability, education, safe enviroments and access to health care," he said.

Charitable giving is vital to BCBSND and Noridian as it strengthens community bonds and supports those in need.

“This award is special because it shows how our collective efforts can make such a significant impact,” said JoVal Wettlaufer, BCBSND wellness advisor. “I love being part of a company that values community support.” 

The collaboration between BCBSND, Noridian and United Way provides an opportunity to channel resources back into communities. Working together, the groups can enhance the quality of life in North Dakota.

“This collaboration allows us to reinvest in the communities where our members live and work,” Conrad said. “This partnership is a testament to our dedication to making our state a better place for everyone.”

United Way of Cass Clay plays a crucial role in strengthening our community. The organization addresses critical needs and fosters positive change. BCBSND congratulates them and the community for a successful campaign.

• 339 individuals obtained living wage jobs to support themselves and their families.
