Collaborative is dedicated to making North Dakota the healthiest state in the nation.
FARGO, N.D. – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) announces two of its employees have been named to a statewide committee.
Amber Blomberg, Executive Director of the Foundation & Community Engagement and Sara Hanson, Director of Population Health were recently named to the Multi-Partner Health Collaborative (MPHC); to serve for a 2-year term.
Groups including the Foundation for a Healthy North Dakota, American Heart Association and North Dakota Health and Human Services launched the MPHC this summer.
The committee’s purpose is to make North Dakota the healthiest state in the nation. This initiative is in-line with the mission of BCBSND, Blomberg said.
“At BCBSND, our vision is to support a new level of health and well-being in North Dakota and beyond,” she said. “Serving on this committee supports our common goals.”
Specifically, MPHC is working toward improving priorities like strengthening the workforce, cultivating wellness, expanding access to health care services and building community resilience.
“The teamwork of this committee will elevate the work we are already doing as individual organizations,” Hanson said. "We are stronger together.”
Blomberg and Hanson join 30 other professionals from backgrounds including health care, education, financial industry and the non-profit fields.
As part of their roles at BCBSND, Blomberg and Hanson champion the Social Determinants of Health Study. The study outlines what North Dakota is doing well and how it can improve.
“That data will help us understand and prioritize the needs of our state,” Hanson said. “Together, this committee will improve the lives of individuals across North Dakota.”
