Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota names Lacey Bergh market president and announces senior leadership team changes

Lacey Bergh Market President

[Fargo, N.D. – Jan. 13, 2026] – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) has announced Lacey Bergh as its market president, pending regulatory approval of BCBSND’s strategic affiliation with Cambia Health Solutions (Cambia). In this new role, Bergh will be accountable to the BCBSND Board of Directors, report to Cambia Chief Commercial Officer Lindsay Harris, and oversee strategy and growth for the health plan that serves more than 380,000 members.

Bergh has served as senior vice president of health delivery and upon regulatory approval and after the affiliation takes effect, would step into this new position as current president and CEO Dan Conrad transitions to chief administrative officer of Cambia. The North Dakota Insurance Department has set a public hearing for January 20 as part of its review of the strategic affiliation proposal. The affiliation would unify all operations to better serve members, while keeping health care local.

“Lacey has a deep grasp of North Dakota’s health care environment and has demonstrated success in promoting collaboration and advancing care delivery. Her experience and commitment to improved health outcomes and building strong relationships across the state position her well to take on this leadership role,” Conrad said. “As North Dakota addresses challenges related to rising care costs and limited access, particularly in rural communities, Lacey’s focus on member needs will support BCBSND’s ongoing efforts to maintain local and accessible health care.”

Bergh’s commitment and devotion to North Dakotans’ well-being began long before coming to BCBSND. She brings a wealth of knowledge through her unique combination of health care, clinical management and business experience – which includes time in patient care and leadership roles at MeritCare and Sanford Health. She joined BCBSND in 2013 and has used her expertise to create and advance innovative partnerships and approaches with health care providers, employers and other organizations to influence the way care is delivered and paid for in North Dakota.

“I am honored to take on this role as we enter an exciting new chapter through our affiliation with Cambia,” Bergh said. “This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver greater value and more solutions for our members while staying true to our commitment to local service. I look forward to building on our legacy and driving positive change for North Dakotans.” She will become North Dakota market president when the affiliation is effective.

Bergh earned her nursing degree at North Dakota State University in Fargo and her Master of Science in Business from the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D.

Pending regulatory approval, BCBSND’s current senior leadership team will transition into leadership roles within the affiliated organization after the affiliation takes effect, working to help ensure BCBSND members, customers and partners receive a high level of service, care and value as the plan’s operations join together with Cambia’s.

  • Greg Glasner, MD, who currently serves as Chief Medical Officer, will become Executive Medical Director, staying focused primarily on medical policy for BCBSND members. He will report to Cambia Chief Medical Officer Donna Milavetz, MD, MPH, FACP.
  • Stacie Heiden, who currently serves as Executive Vice President of Government Markets and Enterprise Analytics, will take on the role of Vice President of Integration, leading BCBSND’s affiliation integration efforts with Cambia. She will report to Dan Conrad.
  • Cyndee Thormodson, currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will move into the role of Senior Vice President of Finance, reporting to Cambia Chief Financial Officer Mike Rains.
  • Don Campbell, currently Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, will take on the role of Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Cambia, reporting to Cambia Senior Vice President and General Counsel Bill Lehman.
  • Ryan Benbo, currently Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, will become Vice President of Marketing, reporting to Cambia Chief Marketing Officer Tracy Wiese.

“The BCBSND Board is excited to work closely with Lacey in this next chapter for BCBSND and pleased to know this team of leaders will continue to support our members and teams both locally and across the affiliated enterprise,” said BCBSND Board Chair Lisa Helbling. “We are committed to working closely with them to help ensure a smooth transition and continuity of service and relationships across the North Dakota market upon regulatory approval.”
