FARGO, N.D. – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND)’s Information Technology division was recognized on Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT list for the second year in a row. This award identifies the top organizations in the world that challenge their IT staff while providing great benefits and compensation. BCBSND ranked 16 out of 18 small organizations.

What determines a great place to work?
Foundry’s Computerworld conducts an annual survey to identify the best places to work for in IT. Nominations were accepted in May 2022 for qualified organizations. Qualifications included having 100 employees or more and a minimum of five IT employees in the U.S.

In May, nominated companies were given a survey and asked to provide employment statistics as well as benefit and program information for the IT department and organization.

“Being recognized for the second year in a row as a Best Places to Work in IT is a great achievement for the organization. We couldn’t have done this without the support of BCBSND management, HR and everyone in IT who makes this place special,” said VP of IT and CIO Mike Error.

Foundry Global Director of Content Strategy Rob O’Regan shared, “Adapting to a ‘new normal’ has put additional demands on IT organizations at companies of all sizes. This year’s winning companies have stepped up with increased IT staffing and a variety of innovative professional development opportunities. The result of these efforts is that not only are IT staffs engaged and productive, but the entire business benefits from IT’s ability to support evolving workplace models and changing business and customer needs. Importantly, this year’s award winners are laser-focused on diversity initiatives to expand the IT talent pool and promote workplace diversity and inclusion.”
