Community members waiting in line at a food truck
FARGO, N.D. –United Way of Cass-Clay is excited to once again partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) for the seventh annual EAT UNITED Food Truck Lunch! This event will feature local food truck favorites like Soul Taco, Mac Daddy's, Fargo Fillies, and many others. That means over a dozen food trucks ready to serve for no cost of admission.
Spending time at EAT UNITED means more than just a good meal. From the crispy grilled cheese and panini sandwiches of Hot Off The Presses to the mouthwatering smoked meats of Smoke My Butt BBQ, a portion of every sale will go towards supporting the local United Way of Cass-Clay. But what does all this mean for the community?
"It means that we can provide more help for our neighbors in need and lift families out of poverty. The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota team’s dedication to this event means that we can achieve our bold goals and prevent hunger and homelessness, prepare children to succeed, and strengthen families,” said Christie Lewandoski, Director of Resource Development at United Way of Cass-Clay.
EAT UNITED's support for the community does not stop there. One returning fan favorite vendor is the nonprofit Heart-n-Soul Community Café, a pay-what-you-can-afford food truck. The Café serves a variety of in-season meals, specializing in harvest, Mediterranean, teriyaki, and elote bowls that are accessible to all, no matter their ability to pay.
The EAT UNITED Food Truck Lunch first started back at BCBSND in 2018 with a simple wish: to blend the exciting food truck scene of Fargo with a great cause. Now, BCBSND has raised thousands for the United Way of Cass-Clay through the support of their members, their team, and the community.
"The EAT UNITED Food Truck Lunch is a tradition we all love to look forward to," said Kristi Huber, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at BCBSND. "And that doesn't just mean our team. It means the food trucks, our local foodies, the community, and the children and families supported by the incredible work lead by the United Way of Cass-Clay team."
The EAT UNITED Food Truck Lunch will take place on June 26, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT at the HealthyDakota campus on the corner of 45th St. and 13th Ave. S. The event is open to the public with no entrance fee. Seating and shelter will be provided, along with live music from BCBSND employee, Keith Axtman.
