Winter Wellness on Ice: Free Skate Rentals Across North Dakota

BCBSND Caring Foundation covers ice skate rentals to promote winter wellness

Fargo, N.D. – The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Caring Foundation is excited to share its partnership with community rinks across the state for free ice skate rentals this winter season. This initiative is part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles and making winter recreation more accessible for families and individuals.

From November through March, residents in Dickinson, Williston, Jamestown, Devils Lake and Minot will have the opportunity to enjoy ice skating without the added cost of skate rentals. Whether you're a seasoned skater or trying it for the first time, this is a great chance to get outside, stay active and enjoy the season.

Skate Rental Schedule:

  • Dickinson (West River Ice Center, 1865 Empire Rd, Dickinson, ND 58601)
    • Fridays from 7 – 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., Nov. through Mar.
  • Williston (Raymond Center, 1002 11th St W, Williston, ND 58801)
    • Tuesdays for two hours from Nov. 4 – Mar. 10
  • Jamestown (Winter Sports Building, 1009 7th St NE, Jamestown, ND)
    • Wednesdays from 7 – 9 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1– 3 p.m., Nov. through Feb.
  • Minot (Citizens Alley, 106 E Central Ave, Minot, ND 58701)
    • Dec. 26–30 and Jan. 2–4 from 12 – 4 p.m.
  • Devils Lake (Quentin N. Burdick Sports Arena, 501 16th St NW, Devils Lake, ND 58301):
    • Nov. 1 (Sat) – 2:30–3:45 p.m.
    • Nov. 2 (Sun) – 1:30–2:45 p.m.
    • Nov. 8 (Sat) – 3:30–4:45 p.m.
    • Nov. 16 (Sun) – 11:30 a.m. –12:45 p.m.
    • Nov. 22 (Sat) – 7:30–8:45 p.m.
    • Nov. 29 (Sat) – 5:00–6:00 p.m.
    • Dec. 5 (Fri) – 8:30–9:45 p.m.
    • Dec. 6 (Sat) – 12:00–1:15 p.m.
    • Dec. 26 (Fri) – 7:15–8:45 p.m.
