Funds providing full scholarships to several individuals
FARGO—The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Caring Foundation was proud to recently partner with Annie's House in Bottineau, ND to provide funding for several scholarships which are allowing any individual to participate in recreational activities, regardless of physical, mental or financial ability.
Annie's House Adaptive Recreation Program is a year-round program for individuals and veterans with intellectual and developmental delays. It gives them the opportunity to partake in a wide variety of recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, archery, skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and more – all adapted to their individual abilities so they can get the best, most inclusive experience. Through these fun activities, they build motor and communication skills, promote independence and build friendships.
"These allocated scholarship funds from BCBSND Caring Foundation will allow all individuals, regardless of financial ability, to participate in recreational activities of their choice," says Tim Eissinger, CEO of Anne Carlsen Center.
Amber Blomberg, BCBSND Caring Foundation Manager shared, "We are honored to be providing funding to Annie's House. They do an excellent job adapting to each person so the individual receives the most out of the experience and builds great skills."
