To reduce maternal health disparities and improve maternal health outcomes across all communities in North Dakota, our Maternal Health Grants provide funding to support nonprofit or community-based organizations. These grants help narrow gaps in care before, during and after pregnancy, making a tangible difference in the lives of women and their families. These awards are fueled by our commitment to help drive change in maternal health.

Grant details:

  • Amount: Three $5,000 grants will be awarded
  • Applications accepted: April 1 to 30

A Maternal Health Grant could include, but is not limited to:

  • Prenatal care
  • Lactation support
  • Access to postpartum mental health care

Provides midwifery‑led, culturally responsive care for high‑risk and underserved pregnant and postpartum patients— including justice‑involved and Medicaid‑insured individuals—demonstrating strong improvements in birth outcomes through clear, data‑driven evaluation.

Central Valley Health District

Strengthens maternal and postpartum health in rural communities by expanding lactation support, breastfeeding‑friendly environments, and coordinated public health services with measurable improvements in breastfeeding access and utilization.

Advances maternal and postpartum health statewide by implementing a standardized, data‑driven screening and follow‑up model that identifies postpartum needs early and is designed to be replicated across multiple clinics.
