Another North Dakota legislative session wrapped up April 26 with action on 984 bills, 635 of which passed.

Bills that affect the North Dakota health insurance landscape include:

• Re-authorization of Medicaid Expansion
• Passage of a reinsurance pool that is intended to help reduce premiums in the individual market
• Support for a set of behavioral health reform bills
• Workforce enhancement funding

Legislative leaders are currently selecting key issues to study during the 2019-2020 interim. BCBSND leaders will be engaged in discussions impacting NDPERS and ND Medicaid RFPs, a health care and pharmacy cost study, the ethics commission, and much more.
