Who can offer dental coverage?

Employer-paid plans:

• To qualify for group dental plan, the employer must contribute a minimum of 50% toward the individual contract premium payment.
• Coverage options for dental programs are only available to groups of three employees or more.

Employee-paid plans:

• Coverage options for voluntary dental programs are available to organizations with at least five or 10 enrollees, depending on the selected plan design, or with a participation of at least 20% of eligible employees, whichever requirement is greater. These plans are 100% employee-paid.

Voluntary BlueDental Elite: Voluntary dental program options are available to groups of ten or more enrollees or 20% participation (whichever is greater), and are 100% employee-paid.

Voluntary BlueDental Elite+: Voluntary dental program with orthodontia coverage are available to groups of ten or more enrollees or 20% participation (whichever is greater), and are 100% employee-paid. Dental plans with orthodontia require a 24-month waiting period without prior orthodontic coverage.

Voluntary BlueDental Essential: Voluntary dental program options are available to groups of five or more enrollees or 20% participation (whichever is greater), and are 100% employee-paid.
