On behalf of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, we’d like to inform our provider community that due to a configuration error, Anthem distributed ID cards with an incorrect prefix of ZFT instead of the correct prefix that should have been sent of VQX.
Please be aware that while claims submitted under the incorrect prefix have been approved, it is essential that providers update this information for future transactions.
Considering this miscommunication, Anthem will be distributing new insurance cards to all affected members that will reflect the correct prefix. Providers facing difficulties in submitting claims due to this error are advised to resubmit the claims using the members new ID number with the corrected prefix.
Anthem apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your patience and understanding as they work through this situation. Their primary focus is always to ensure a seamless experience for all their members.
