File claims electronically

For faster, more efficient, money saving claim submission and reimbursement file claims electronically. BCBSND offers the Availity Essentials Intelligent Gateway Portal which is the one-stop, secure BCBSND provider portal making it easy to submit and manage claims through the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system.

This portal, developed by our partner, Availity, helps streamline the claims process, from submission to reimbursement.

Dental

Through our dental partner, United Concordia Dental (UCD), BCBSND dental providers have access to secure online: 

  • Claims administration
  • Provider contract management
  • Member/provider customer service

Use the My Patients' Benefits feature of the UCD website and use your United Concordia Payer ID.

In-Network Vision

Through our vision partner, Vision Service Plan (VSP), BCBSND vision providers have access to secure online:

  • Claims administration
  • Provider contract management
  • Member/provider customer service

Medical-related vision benefits are offered under BCBSND medical benefits. Any claims for medical related claims can be submitted through Availity EDI.

Out-of-Network (OON) Vision

VSP created a separate number for OON providers in North Dakota to utilize to access patient information.

  • Please call: 1-844-830-7715.
  • When prompted, you will need to enter the member's Unique Member Identifier (UMI). The patient should have this information, if they do not have this information they will need to call BCBSND or log-in through the member's web portal.
  • You will have the option to use self-service or request to be routed to a Customer Service Representative (CSR).

Note: This phone number is for OON providers in North Dakota only. All other inquiries will receive a standard messaging and the call will be disconnected.
