Clinical Practice Guidelines
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) has put together guidelines to help our members stay healthy. They are based on evidence from well-known medical groups. These guidelines cover things like:
- preventive care
- sudden illnesses
- long-term diseases
- mental health
BCBSND uses these standards to ensure quality and manage health programs. These guidelines apply to:
- Commercial
- Marketplace
- Medicaid Expansion
The guidelines are checked at least once per year with help from health care providers. If new research or practices come out, they may be revised.
These guidelines help doctors decide how to care for members. They are general and should not replace a doctor's judgment for each case. Other national organizations might have different suggestions.
