Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) continually develops and revises coding and reimbursement policies and resources in response to rapidly changing medical technology and updates to the coding sets. Our commitment is to update the provider community as coding and reimbursement policies and guidelines are added, adopted and/or revised.
The following coding and reimbursement policy updates are effective April 15, 2024:
- Coding and Billing Guidelines for Emergency Department
- Changed “Revised Date:” to “Revision Effective Date:”
- Updated the Emergency Department code descriptions in the charts.
- Global Surgical Package
- Added legal disclaimer “All claims submitted for this policy will be processed according to the policy effective date and associated revision effective dates in effect on the date of service.”
- Added link to new Modifiers 76, 77, and 91 (Repeat and Duplicate Services) in Repeat Procedure and Cross References sections.
- Changed “Revised Date:” to “Revision Effective Date:” and changed “separately reimbursed” to “reviewed for separate reimbursement” under the Decision for Surgery section.
- Correct Coding Policy- (Commercial only)
- Changed policy title from Correct Coding Guidelines to Correct Coding Policy.
