As noted within HealthCare News last week, the PA Checkpoint tool within Availity Essentials was released April 20.
The implementation was successful, and providers will see the new tool upon entering the Authorization & Referrals request section.
However, there is one difference that is not noted within the Predictal resource guide that will be required at this time. In step 6 of the guide, a zero will need to be added at the end when entering a member ID into the PA Checkpoint tool (ex: YQNXXXXXXXXXXXX0). We are currently working on messaging to display in the appropriate screen while this is reviewed further.
Our NextBlue of North Dakota, Medicare Advantage plan and Federal Employee (FEP) lines of business will not be part of this change.
