All Lines of Business Updates: Commercial Medicaid Expansion and NextBlue

We are excited to share that Availity Essentials our provider portal partner is adding a new quick claim form rendition going live Saturday, April 20, 2024. The new quick claim form is a shortened version of the professional claim form and is intended for providers that bill for the same members and services from month to month.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) plans including NextBlue Medicare Advantage, are transitioning to the new, more concise, and easier to use claims & encounters form for professional and facility claims.

Providers are encouraged to view the updated educational training demos for quick claims, professional claim and facility claims that the Availity Essentials training team have available to assist providers with the new form. Providers and billers who need the regular long claim form will still have that available within these screens.

To access the following demos within Availity Essentials follow these steps:

  1. Log into Availity Essentials.
  2. Select the “Help & Training” drop down located on the top navigation bar.
  3. Select “Get Trained”.
  4. In the Availity Learning Center catalog search for the following demos:
    • Search "Quick Claims", then select and enroll in the “Quick Claims - Training Demo”
    • Search "Professional Claim", then select and enroll in the “Professional Claim (new) - Training Demo”
    • Search “Facility Claims,” then select and enroll in the “Facility Claim - Training Demo”
