Notification of Availity Essentials Authorization Screen Changes

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) wants to let providers of an upcoming change within the Availity Essentials authorization request screen, starting May 17, 2025.

Once BCBSND and the authorization type are selected in the payer dropdown menu, the new user interface (UI) will open seamlessly within your existing workflow.

The new interface may have a new look and consolidated features; however, the function will remain the same. You will not need to do anything different, simply log in to Availity Essentials, select Patient Registration and navigate to the Authorizations & Referrals tool as usual to get started.

Changes have been made to the BCBSND Predictal Resource guide to accommodate this change.
