Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Care Guide Teams are preparing an outbound call campaign to support members who appear to be overdue for routine primary care or well-child preventive visits. The goal is to reduce gaps in preventive care by educating members on available benefits, helping them identify in-network options, and—when requested—assisting with scheduling an appointment.
Starting as early as late March, BCBSND will contact select BCBSND members enrolled in individual, small, large and metallic plans by email or phone to help connect them with in-network primary care and well-child preventive visits.
During this campaign, Care Guide Teams may:
- Explain the reason for the outreach
- Review preventive care benefits
- Help schedule an appointment (when requested)
- Confirm the selected provider is in-network
- Discuss alternative care options if needed
- Confirm logistics (date/time/location) once scheduled
- Encourage use of BCBSND.me for ongoing engagement
- Direct urgent but non-emergent needs to appropriate care settings
This is an educational outreach focused on connecting members to preventive care and sharing benefit information. Outreach is conducted in accordance with applicable privacy requirements, including HIPAA.
What this mean for providers
Providers may hear from members who were reminded to establish care, schedule annual preventive visits, or schedule well-child visits. When a member asks for scheduling help, the Care Guide Team may coordinate directly with the provider’s office using the member’s preferred contact method and will confirm the final appointment details with the member.
