Medicare's Evolving Landscape

NextBlue’s continued support for North Dakota seniors in their Medicare journey

Enrollment in Medicare Advantage is steadily increasing among seniors, fueled by greater awareness and satisfaction. Plans must evolve to meet the diverse needs of a growing senior population. More seniors continue to choose Medicare Advantage over traditional Medicare.

As we approach 2026, the NextBlue landscape is undergoing a significant transformation in line with many health plans locally and nationally due to continued rising costs and utilization trends. NextBlue will continue to serve the Medicare population in North Dakota by continuing to provide Medicare Advantage options that fit their needs.

In October, 19,000 NextBlue members were notified that their current plan was ending Dec. 31, 2025, and they need to take action to select a new plan for 2026 coverage.

Below are the key plan changes.
NextBlue has introduced two new plans which will start Jan. 1, 2026, Discover PPO and Summit PPO. The current NextBlue Classic PPO and Premium PPO plans will end as of Dec. 31, 2025.

These new plans will continue to include a comprehensive benefit package, including Part D coverage and supplemental benefits/allowances. Our Freedom MA-Only PPO plan members will not need to reenroll for 2026 if they wish to continue with the same plan.
