Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Services

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Medicaid Expansion program allows members to receive a ride from a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) provider to and from medical appointments when no other transportation source is available.

While BCBSND Medicaid Expansion offers NEMT services, our BCBSND Commercial plans have limited benefits for transportation. Providers and/or members can check the individuals benefit plan for information on covered services such as those related to transplants. Details on whether services are available will be provided at the time of the benefit inquiry.

To provide rides for Medicaid Expansion, NEMT providers need to be enrolled with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the BCBSND Medicaid Expansion network. More on the enrollment and process of providing NEMT can be found here Medicaid Expansion Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT), Meals and Lodging Providers.
