Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota is continuing to provide updates on its strategic affiliation with Cambia Health Solutions and what that means for providers in 2027. The key message right now is simple: for now, it is business as usual.
BCBSND remains a separate, locally governed organization with its own board, local leadership and commitment to the North Dakota market. Providers should continue working with their current contacts and current business processes remain in place.
This affiliation will bring changes in 2027, like a new claims processing system and member ID numbers. It is our intention to migrate approximately 65% of our commercial lines of business to the new platform on Jan. 1, 2027, and on the health plan renewal date for the remaining members.
To help provider teams prepare, BCBSND’s provider communication plan includes direct outreach, ongoing updates, practical training, FAQs and office hours. Future updates will focus on specific changes that will impact providers, what providers need to do and where to get help.
BCBSND appreciates providers’ partnership and will continue sharing information as decisions are finalized in the coming months.
