Description
Saliva hormone testing uses a saliva sample to measure levels of estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, DHEA, melatonin or other hormones. Many proponents use this test to identify female hormone levels in perimenopausal women to initiate hormone replacement therapy.
Policy/Criteria
Benefits are not available for salivary hormone tests as it is considered investigational.
