Getting sick is never convenient, but telehealth visits make medical care more accessible. You can have a visit in minutes using your computer, tablet or smartphone. If your regular health care provider offers telehealth visits, use their services. If not, BCBSND has another option for you through our partnership with Amwell.

COVID-19 UPDATE: Telehealth coverage varies based on your plan. To learn more about coverage specific to your plan, call 844-363-8457.

You have two options to get care

Option 1: Use your own provider’s telehealth services

Many providers or health care systems are providing telehealth services.
Visit their website for sign-in and visit instructions or contact them to begin care.

Option 2: BCBSND/Amwell telehealth service

Amwell doctors are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In just minutes you can create an account and be online with a doctor.

Amwell telehealth isn’t meant to replace your primary care provider (PCP). It is designed to reduce non-emergency and walk-in clinic visits when your PCP isn’t available.

When you book your Amwell telehealth appointment, the appointment scheduler will provide an estimated cost for your entire telehealth visit. However, you will not have to provide payment until after your telehealth visit. Please note, the exact coverage amounts are based on your specific plan.

Follow these steps to get care from Amwell:

  1. Visit or download the Apple or Android app
  2. Enter service key: BCBSND
  3. Enter your Member ID number, located on your BCBSND member card
  4. Enter the name and date of birth of the policy holder
  5. Choose the type of visit you need, scroll through providers and select one to begin your visit.
